Amanda and Chuck currently live across the country from one another, all the way from DC to Texas, so it was so special that they were reunited for a while in Oregon and I got to photograph them! They are so much fun to be around and I love how they feel so comfortable being goofy and silly around each other. Amanda says she describes their relationship like Jim and Pam from the Office, which I can totally see! They chose a relaxed, barefoot style at a nature park with narrow wood bridges and rocks, perfect for a summer evening shoot.
I don’t typically play favorites, but Kira & Andrew are seriously my favorite couple we’ve ever worked with! They are the the kindest, most laid-back couple and we loved getting to hang out with them during their engagement session and wedding. Documenting Kira and Andrew’s day was such a privilege, I truly felt like I was capturing the story of two best friends. I love how genuine and in-the-moment they were throughout the entire day and how they were able to take everything in and enjoy themselves!
Their wedding was the day after New Years and it was about 30 degrees outside, so we were indoors most of the day. It was super cold walking from the Nines Hotel where they got ready to the Adrianna Ballroom, but Andrew & Kira were troopers and let me take more photos of them as we walked over! We really felt like we were part of the celebration hanging out with their friends and family the whole day and I’m so glad we were able to give them memories they can cherish forever.
Ginny Au was the styling mastermind behind this incredible vignette for the Belle Lumière Workshop in Alabama. Her styling expresses simplicity in nature and organic movement through the way the florals (by Twiggs Floral) and greenery move throughout the scene, and the way the bride’s gown is draped and textured so organically. The longer the shoot went on, the more experimental it got! When you get a bunch of creatives together, you never know what will happen. This led to the bride climbing under a waterfall and eventually in the lake! Though it was a challenging endeavor, it was comical to see Ginny and Photographer Mike Hansen swimming in Smith Lake trying to hold the bride afloat in the water. The results were phenomenal and so creative!
